Vienna Woods State School is a small school located in expansive grounds in Alexandra Hills in the Redlands. Our school opened in 1985. Our grounds are beautiful and well maintained to create ample play space. Each class has the benefit of a double area teaching space. Classrooms are well resourced with interactive whiteboards, computers and literacy andnumeracy resources and all classrooms are air-conditioned.
Our teachers are highly qualified and dedicated to their profession. They build safe and supportive classroom learning environments. Programs in Music, Physical Education, Library, Language other than English (LOTE) (Italian) and Instrumental Music are delivered by specialist teachers. Our school also offers literacy and numeracy support, Special Education support, speech therapy, support for English as a second language and a Guidance Officer.
Our hours are 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. The first break is 10.30 – 11.15 am and second break is 12.45 pm – 1.10 pm. Students also have a brief brain break in class with fresh fruit or vegetables.
Students, parents and staff at Vienna Woods State School are actively involved in the life of the school and share a commitment to its future development and growth.
Our programs are supported by effective behaviour management of student behaviour in the classroom and the playground. To this end, the school community has developed a code of behaviour from which our school and classroom rules have been generated.
